Waldman Diamond Company is a committed participant in Rio Tinto’s Mine of Origin program for product from the Diavik mine in Canada. An important element of this program is the Diavik Mine mark.
The objective of introducing this mark and supporting materials is to provide the assurance to retailers and consumers that:
Each certified diamond is a natural gem sourced from Rio Tinto’s Diavik Diamond Mine in the Northwest Territories of Canada.
Each Diavik diamond is tracked and segregated from other product streams from the mine to the manufacturer.
Each Diavik diamond is manufactured by a Select Diamantaire—Waldman Diamond Company, as a Select Diamantaire, is one of a select group of customers that purchases Rio Tinto’s diamonds
Diavik diamonds are mined according to international standards of labor, health and safety, and environmental practice.
Certified gems are laser-etched with a unique number by Waldman Diamond Company, traceable to the Rio Tinto Diamonds’ lot number and Waldman Diamond Company number indicating size of original rough
All Rio Tinto’s diamond mines operate at the highest levels of environmental, safety and social standards, follow the Kimberley Process, and are committed to making lasting contributions to the local communities in which they operate.
