Ernst & Young Benchmark Study

NEW STUDY ON INVESTMENT DIAMOND PRICING

Ernst & Young has conducted a benchmark study on Waldman’s Investment Diamond prices against the industry wholesale and retail price range for comparable diamonds. This demonstrates that WDI’s Investment Diamond prices are 6% below average wholesale prices and between 25-46% lower than online retail prices.

The Ernst & Young team calculated the average price of a selection of 150 WDI investment grade diamonds, and the average prices of the 1 carat, 2 carat and 3 carat stones, and compared them with average wholesale prices and retail prices for equivalent diamonds. The wholesale pricing information was compiled from a sample of 7 vendors, and the retail prices were obtained by averaging the prices for diamonds offered by 15 vendors on the “PriceScope” website.

Waldman has commissioned Ernst & Young to repeat this benchmarking exercise for investment diamonds every 6 months.
