Chronology
1978 New York office established for polished trading. 1983-1985 Network of polished diamond buyers established in Tel Aviv, Antwerp, Bombay and Johannesburg. 1988 Tel-Aviv office established. 1995 Diamond manufacturing alliances established in South Africa. 1996 Cutting facility opened in Tel-Aviv. 1997 Addition of Far East manufacturing facility. Sales presence established in Europe and China. 1998 WDC Israel establishes Japanese sales division. Cutting facility expanded to enable production of unique customer cuts on request. 1999 Establishment of Waldman Diamonds Complete, the Jewelry Division, in New York. 2000 Waldman Diamond Company - Japan office established. 2002 Waldman Diamond Israel Purchases new office facility. 2003 Waldman Diamond group first Israel-based firm to have been selected as a core client by Rio Tinto and Aber, making it eligible for a regular allocation of rough diamonds. 2004 Waldman Diamond Group announces that it has secured the exclusive marketing rights for the output of the Magna Egoli Mine, an alluvial mining operation in Sierra Leone that produces gem quality diamonds. |
